”Through 20 years of cooperation Langebæk Logistik has gathered a tremendous insight in our logistics way of thinking, so we asked them to carry out the task. Furthermore, we could profit from their previous experience with the atomisation of Netto’s distribution centre in Køge, Denmark, distributing goods to 360 stores in Denmark; no reason to reinvent the wheel.”
Jørgen Larsen, logistics manager
We are moving the production lines to Koprivnice primarily to enhance the performance and to get a more flexible solution, between them increasing the line productivity. Furthermore, we are interested in realising some of the cost savings made possible by production in Eastern Europe. It is a hefty task - for which reason we involved Langebæk Logistik at a very early stage in the decision process.
Lars Jørgensen, plant manager in Struer
”The results have been spectacular. We have developed from having large stock of finished products to almost none, from a cost-effective serial size of 600 units to one of approx. 100, from change-over times of 15 work hours to change-over times of 5 minutes on the A line and 20 minutes on the B lines. We honestly did not believe it was possible.”
Steen Mølsted Kristensen, operational manager
”The applied technologies are not new to Carlsberg as such, but the integration of technologies into one coherent production and logistics system, and the fact that the production is already up and running, makes the project immensely complex. However, everything has developed as scheduled. We have of course made some minor readjustments underway, but we have reached all the broad milestones.”
Lars G. Hansen, production and project manager
“The capacity enhancement has been reached primarily through modern logistics principles, less through technology. Technically speaking, the improvements consist of a new high bay and upgraded sorting and picking systems. That does not mean that anyone could have solved the technical implementation task. It was extremely important to us that our business partner had documented results in technical project management and implementation. A minor technical error may quickly develop into a large problem considering our defined service policy requirements. I know Langebæk Logistik from previous times and know that they have the right experience in technical implementation.”
Peter Vlasmann, logistics director Scandinavia
”The existing premises had become inadequate and the combination of our continued growth and ambitious goals towards 2010 meant that we had to reject the original plans for the logistics structure. We therefore involved Langebæk Logistik, but looking back they should have been part of the process much earlier in order to be able to influence the construction of the building as well as the lay-out of the warehouse.
Thomas Bredahl, logistics manager
”Due to the optimisation of the logistics layout we have experienced significant improvements through the supply chain. As an example, the local shops save a large amount of time ordering goods – today they spend down to half an hour per week ordering goods - previously, the same task took them a day. Furthermore, the stock of each shop has been reduced with up to 40%, which of course has also helped improve our liquidity. "
Jesper Amsinck, logistics manager
“The main advantage of working with Langebæk is their insight into complex logistical structures and understanding of our specific challenges. They have a wide experience in the area, which we profit from because they see the connections and make constructive and long-term solution proposals; the advanced system for scanning luggage in transit is an example of the combination of their creativity and technical knowledge. "
Carsten Seiler, project manager
“’During the idea phase, we had some specific requirements to our future warehouse. Langebæk Logistik has then responded with concrete solution proposals such as mobile pallet storage function, pallet extraction with ergonomic lifting equipment, and mezzanine. It's been a really good experience."
Carsten Pedersen, warehouse coordinator
”Great many employees could not see the point in developing areas that would be back to status quo after a few months, the way they had experienced it previously. Therefore, it was highly important to sell the message in the right way. As things were actually changed and the changes had positive impact on their work day, the employees became motivated to contribute to the improvements. "
Jens Kofoed, Chief of Defence depot and distribution
"Mostly, the challenge has been of technical nature. When we built the current location in 2001, it was simply not technically possible to automate the handling of fruit and vegetables. The technology is mature now and it coincides with the fact that the Danish Working Environment Authority has started to admonish our large amount of manual work. Additionally, the capacity requirement and need for uniform treatment of our products are increasing."
Jorgen Larsen, warehouse and logistics manager
"Cooperation with Langebæk Logistics has been both swift and effective. We are a public authority in a different paradigm than the one Langebæk Logistik normally operates in - a fact, which has occasionally been a challenge. For instance, our staff are not used to working with tools like value stream analysis. However, when the goal to become more efficient and get a better workplace is made tangible, we find a common focus. Langebæk Logistik has been very helpful in this process."
Merete Røn Christensen, chief of Rehabilitation Copenhagen
”A large part of our current challenges can be met with new technology. We are impressed that the old crane system has been operative for 30 years. But when Langebæk Logistik proposes solutions such as wireless pallet trucks, it becomes clear that technology has developed since they first installed the old system.
Carsten Carstensen, project manager
”Restructuring and automation have of course been associated with costs, but the interesting thing is that can now to stay in Denmark with a strengthened competitiveness. A process which would not have been doable without the process we have been through with Langebæk. The knowledge and network, Langebæk holds, have meant everything to our restructuring - and ultimately to our company's continued existence in Denmark."
Thomas Thøgersen, CEO
”Langebæk Logistik entered the project at a time when we needed help for the product flow analysis and details such as fire measures in the warehouse in which areas Langebæk Logistic has been a great help. We might have been able to plan the design of the store ourselves but we are now complete certain that the details are under control. Among other things, Langebæk Logistik has been creative about a sprinkler solution that has save us a large sum of money.
Janni Nina Jepsen, head of global logistics
"Langebæk Logistik’s proposal for our future baggage handling was simply technically superior and suggested that they had examined our needs very carefully."
Lars Holm Madsen, chief operating officer
"Our criterion for
success is optimisation
of the customer's
business, regardless
of size."
